Local farmers sell their produce and homemade products.

Storytelling – Tuesday, June 18, 11 am – 12 noon, Mountain Regional Library, Young Harris
Join storytellers (create, refine, practice and critique) and story listeners at the Mountain Regional Library in Young Harris looking for a good story.

Theater – Thursday, June 20, 4 – 5 pm, First Baptist Church of Blue Ridge
The Hampstead Stage Company will be presenting their adaption of Rudyard Kipling’s “The Jungle Book.”

Gardening – Thursday, June 20, 6 – 7 pm, Feed Fannin, Blue Ridge *
Square-foot gardening – Learn about small, efficient gardening plots that can save you time, effort and space while yielding wonderful vegetables, herbs, and flowers!

Rodeo -Friday & Saturday, June 21 & 22, 6 – 11 pm, Union County Saddle Club Arena, Blairsville *
Every year the third weekend of June brings Blairsville one of the best Professional Rodeos in the south, with top quality livestock to assure some thrills and spills! There will also be plenty of things for little Cowboys and Cowgirls to do also. Show begins at 8 pm.

Movie – Friday, June 21, 6:30 – 8:30 pm, Fannin County Library, Blue Ridge
Flicks in the Stacks – the movie “Smallfoot” will be shown.

Concert – Friday, June 21, 7 pm, Old Courthouse on the Square, Blairsville ^
The New Collins Brothers Band will perform Bluegrass music..

Concert – Friday, June 21, 7 pm at John C. Campbell Folk School, Brasstown, NC ^
Steve Hickman and John Devine will perform.  Hickman and Devine play a wide variety of country, folk, bluegrass, Irish, swing and traditional old time music.

Planetarium Show – Friday, June 21, 8 – 9 pm, Rollins Planetarium, Young Harris College *
Planet Nine – In 2015, the New Horizons spacecraft gave us our first close look at Pluto, the most famous dwarf planet in the outskirts of our Solar System. The pictures sent back to Earth reveal a world far more complex than anyone realized. Now scientists are making new discoveries about our Solar System—and what it may be hiding: an object 10 times more massive than Earth far beyond the orbit of Neptune. Is there a new planet beyond these distant objects? We’ll tag along on Brown’s first night searching for a true ninth planet at the Subaru Telescope in Hawaii. Join us on the hunt!

Astronomy – Friday, June 21, 9:15 – 11:15 pm, Brasstown Bald Visitor Center, Blairsville *
“Gazers of the Galaxy”  Have you ever gazed up at the night sky and wondered what was “out there”? Now’s your chance to view Brasstown Bald’s scenic vista in a whole new light – or dark!  Come to the highest point in Georgia to discover the hidden mysteries of Georgia’s darkest sky. Astronomer, Alex Langoussis, will guide you though the night, interpreting the wonders of the universe through his galactic stories and expertise, with the opportunity to use a high powered telescope.

Farmers Market – Saturday, June 22, 7 am – 1 pm, Farmer’s Market, Blairsville
American Cancer Society Dessert Contest Day.  Growers and artisans will sell their goods at the Union County Farmer’s Market – a local market with items from artisans, beekeepers, bakers, potters, painters, and lots of good things to eat. Fresh produce right out of the fields.

Art & Craft Show – Saturday (9 – 4) & Sunday (11 – 4), June 22 & 23, at the North Ga Technical College, Blairsville
The Indoor Arts & Crafts Show will feature local and regional vendors showcasing their handmade creations which include pottery,  soap, candles, and rustic signs to name a few.

Quilt Exhibit – Saturday – Sunday, June 22 – 23, 10 am – 6 pm, Blue Ridge Mountain Arts Association, Blue Ridge
Celebrate our heritage with the age-old artistic craft of quilting and the beauty of the fiber arts. The Art Center will be adorned in colorful fabric, woven with care, skill and hand-made flare.

Festival – Saturday, June 22, 2 – 10 pm, Mercier Orchards, Blue Ridge *
“Blue Ridge Wine and Jazz Festival” – a regional attraction and annual concert of jazz music aimed at keeping this uniquely American music form vibrant, featuring hot jazz, great wines, fine art, delicious cuisine, and many outdoor activities all in one great place.

Music – Saturday, June 22, 7:00 – 8:30 pm, Hiawassee Town Square, Hiawassee ^
Music on the Square will feature the live music of Danny Miller.

Music & Art– Saturday, June 22, 7:00 – 10:30 pm, Goldhagen Art Studio, Hayesville, NC *
Hot Summer Nights is an evening of entertainment. Heidi Holton will perform.  David Goldhagen will demonstrate the beauty of glass blowing. Reservations highly recommended.
